Ramschied is a district of the city of Bad Schwalbach in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse .
geography
Ramschied lies at an altitude of 371 meters west of Bad Schwalbach and is separated from it by the ridge of the Western Aartaunus , but still belongs to this natural subdivision of the Hintertaunus .
Ramschied lies on the upper reaches of the Dornbach , which flows into the Wisper with the Fischbach .
history
Ramschied was first mentioned in a document in 883 as the property of the Bleidenstadt monastery . It belonged to the overheight villages of the Rheingau . Before the Thirty Years War Ramschied consisted of the two separate villages Oberramschied and Niederramschied. Both places were destroyed during the war, but they were rebuilt on the site of today's settlement.
Ramschied has been part of Bad Schwalbach since December 31, 1971, following a voluntary merger as part of the regional reform in Hesse . As for every district outside the core city, the main statute established a local district for Ramschied with a local advisory board and local councilor .
In 1985 Ramschied was the district winner in the competition Our village should become more beautiful .
Culture and sights
In addition to the sports club, club life is shaped by the volunteer fire brigade . One of the sights is the Sauerbrunnen, the superstructure of which is also adorned with the Ramschied coat of arms. The water of the Sauerbrunnen is considered to be very iron-rich and therefore takes some getting used to in terms of taste.
Economy and Infrastructure
tourism
Ramschied is the ideal starting point for hikes through the hinterland forest in the Wispertaunus . The Wispertaunus is one of the most densely forested parts of the Taunus and has largely been designated as an FFH area. In addition, the entire region is part of the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park , which aims to enable people to relax in a natural environment.
traffic
Ramschied is on the L 3033, which connects as Wisperstraße in west-east direction Lorch via Geroldstein with Bad Schwalbach. Directly above Ramschied , after a winding ascent, it connects to the federal highway 260 , via which you can reach Wiesbaden and the Rhine-Main area to the south .
