Ray Bomba (born February 14, 1907 in Beeville , Texas , † June 24, 1986 in Encino , California ) was an American sound engineer or sound engineer who was nominated for an Oscar in 1946 with the fairytale adventure film 1001 Nights .

Life

Already his first film in 1946 brought Bomba (together with Lawrence W. In the same year, Henry Koster's historical drama Desirée with Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons was on his program, as was the comedic drama Rhythm in the Blood with Marilyn Monroe . His first film in 1955 was the adventure film Meeting Place Hong Kong , again starring Edward Dmytryk, starring Clark Gable and Susan Hayward . Bomba also contributed to the literary adaptation of an autobiographical novel by the Chinese doctor and author Han Suyin, All Glory on Earth (1955) with William Holden and Jennifer Jones . In the romantic drama The Great Rain (1955) based on Louis Bromfield's model, he met the director Jean Negulesco and the leading actors Lana Turner and Richard Burton . In 1958 he was able to prove his skills in the adventure drama The Roots of Heaven by John Huston with Errol Flynn , Juliette Gréco and Trevor Howard . His last film was the comedy Over the Alleys of Nice by Nunnally Johnson , with whom he had worked in two other films, with Leslie Caron and Henry Fonda . It is based on a novel by Romain Gary .
