Topographical description from 1752

In Biedermann's topographical description from 1752, Reckendorf is described as follows:

“Reckendorf; A small village with 13 households on the Reckenbächlein between Brunn, Greifenstein and Heiligenstadt, belongs only to the Baron von Stauffenberg in the Greifenstein Castle and the knightly canton of Gebürg. The same person owns the village and community rule, bailiff, high and low hunting, entire teams and the tithe and leaves the high justice to the office of Ebermannstadt.
In times past this place was a Streitbergian pertinence to Greifenstein Castle.
The inhabitants all profess the Protestant religion and parish to the church in Heiligenstadt. The Reckenbächlein comes down from Brunn. "

Quoted from Dieter Zöberlein: Community chronicle Markt Heiligenstadt i. OFr.

The Bamberg private scholar Joseph Heller described Reckendorf in his description of the Muggendorfer Mountains in 1829 as follows:

"Reckendorf, an insignificant village with 13 houses and 70 inhabitants, is located in the district court of Ebermannstadt , near Greifenstein."
