Lindach (Heiligenstadt in Upper Franconia)
Lindach (Franconian: Lindi ) is a district of the Heiligenstadt market in Upper Franconia in the Bamberg district . Until the regional reform it was the smallest municipality in Bavaria . The village has 61 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Lindach is located in Franconian Switzerland on the eastern flank of the Geisberg at an altitude of 540 m above sea level. NN . Before the climb to Lindach you can see an old well room with a single linden tree , which is protected as a natural monument.

Lindach owes its name to the linden trees.

history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1307. In Biedermann's topographical description from 1752, Lindach is described as follows:
- "Lindach, a small village with a sheep farm on the heights, 3 hours from the residence under the Hallstadt office, parish of the Catholic Church in Tiefenbelz."
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community was incorporated into the Heiligenstadt market in Upper Franconia.
