Traindorf (East Franconian: Draado'f ) is a village in Franconian Switzerland and a district of the Markt Heiligenstadt in Upper Franconia in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg .

geography

Traindorf is just under a kilometer south of Heiligenstadt. Because of the frequent flooding of the Leinleiter , the valley floor is not continuously built on. The village has 160 inhabitants and is 350  m above sea level. NN .

history

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1340, when Fritz von Streitberg sold his property in Dreundorf to the canon of the St. Gangolf Abbey in Bamberg.

From 1915 to 1960 Traindorf had a train station on the Ebermannstadt – Heiligenstadt railway line .

On January 1, 1971, Traindorf was incorporated into the Heiligenstadt market in Upper Franconia.

Surname

There is another village with the same name near Stadtsteinach . As with this, the name Traindorf is said to have originated from Tragindorf, in which the " g " was not spoken. Consequently, it is about the village of a Slavic tragedy or a Germanic tragedy.

Topographical description from 1752

In Biedermann's topographical description from 1752, Traindorf is described as follows:

"Draindorf, a mansion and village of 30 subjects on the Leinleiter between Heiligenstadt and Veilbrunn, whose 7 men go to the bishopric in the caste office Ebermannstadt, 2 men to the same office in Scheßlitz, 3 men to the Princely House of Brandenburg-Culmbach to the office of Streitberg, the manor house with 14 man to the Baron v. Seckendorff to his Veilbrunner property, 2 men to the same in the castle Unterleinleiter and 2 men to the Baron Schenken v. Stauffenberg belongs to Burggrub Castle.
The office Ebermannstadt is with the village lord, Baron v. Seckendorff is also with the village and common rulers, has the inheritance courts over his subjects, visits the high and low hunt from Unterleinleiter, raises 3 parts by the toe and enjoys part of the fishing water, of which the other goes to Baron Schenken v. Stauffenberg responsible.
The knightly subjects are all incorporated into the Canton Gebürg and were before times as a whole the Lord v. Streitberg is responsible, after whose death the destruction took place.

Local residents profess the Protestant religion and are parish in Lutheran Hallstadt. "
