Reentko Dirks , meanwhile Reentko , (born February 6, 1979 in Bad Gandersheim ) is a German guitarist , percussionist and composer .

Life

Dirks started playing guitar at the age of seven . His musical path led him to the Dresden University of Music in 2000 , where he studied acoustic guitar with Thomas Fellow . He has been a lecturer himself since 2007.

In 2000 Dirks founded the guitar duo Dirks and Wirtz together with Daniel Nikolas Wirtz . The duo performed at concerts all over Europe and was u. a. awarded the special prize of the European Guitar Award . In 2003 the duo began working with the singer Annamateur and the jazz cellist Stephan Braun , who joined in 2005 , resulting in two CDs and numerous media prizes (including the 2008 German Cabaret Prize ).

There are numerous radio and CD recordings by Reentko (under this name), including the CD "Planet Kalkan" recorded together with the Turkish guitarist Erkin Cavus.

In 2010 Reentko released his first solo CD "Sounds for the Silver Screen", which contains only his own compositions and is stylistically based on film music ; some of the recordings were made in collaboration with the Hollywood composer Richard Horrowitz. He is active in classical music as well as in world and pop music and has worked with ensembles and musicians such as the Dresden Philharmonic , Peter Bruns , Richard Horrowitz , Christina Lux , Hands on Strings , Annamateur , Stephan Braun , Valérie Inertie and Tim Bendzko . He is a founding member of the European Guitar Quartet (together with Pavel Steidl , Zoran Dukić and Thomas Fellow).

Since 2013 he has been supporting the duo Zärtitäten mit Freunde in their talk show Zärtitäten im Bus on a regular basis.

Since 2019 he has been a member of the world jazz band Masaa as Reentko Dirks .
