The Kaffrine region is a region in central Senegal . It borders on the Kaolack region in the west, the Fatick region in the north-west, the Diourbel and Louga regions in the north, the Matam region in the north-east, the Tambacounda region in the east and Gambia in the south . It was created in 2008 when it was separated from the Kaolack region.

The Kaffrine region is divided into four departments:

For 2013, nine arrondissements, five municipalities (Communes) and 28 rural communities (Communautés rurales) are to be named on the next structural levels.
