The Sédhiou département with the capital Sédhiou is one of 45 départements that make up Senegal and one of three départements that make up the Sédhiou region . It is located in the center of Casamance in southern Senegal between the Casamance River in the south and the Soungrougrou in the north and west.

The department has an area of ​​2726.76 km² and is divided into arrondissements, communes and rural communes (Communautés rurales) as follows:
