Reinhart R. Wolke

Reinhart Robiyan Wolke , born as Reinhart Wolke (born May 27, 1934 in Ústí nad Labem ; died December 18, 2005 in Bandung , Java ) was a German painter and sculptor .

Cloud was the son of Hedwig and Arthur Wolke and spent his childhood in Bohemia on the Elbe in what is now the Czech Republic . After the Second World War , the family fled to Weimar . After finishing school, Wolke completed an apprenticeship in the painting trade .

In 1953 he moved to the Federal Republic. Long journeys on foot or by bike to over 30 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe followed. From 1963 he studied sculpture under Robert Jacobsen at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . He learned artistic ceramics from Franz Eska . In 1967, 1969 and 1970 he took part in the Great Art Exhibition in the Haus der Kunst . In 1974 he moved with his family from Planegg near Munich to the former schoolhouse in Osterzhausen , where he lived and worked for 14 years.

Wolke's work was shaped by impressions from his travels, where he dealt with various materials and artistic techniques. Large sculptures, wall reliefs, fountains, tiled stoves, tombs and garden designs in public and private spaces were created.

In 1989 he moved to the central highlands of the Indonesian island of Java . There he designed houses and furniture, sculptures, watercolors and books. Reinhart R. Wolke died on December 18, 2005. The "R." stood for his Indonesian name Robiyan.

The first posthumous exhibition of his works took place in May 2009 in the Aichacher Werkstatt-Galerie Schiele.
