Reveille was an American crossover - band of Harvard , Massachusetts , who had from 1998 to 2003 inventory.
history
The band was formed in 1998 and consisted of singer Drew Simollardes, guitarists Steve Miloszewski and Greg Sullivan, bassist Carl Randolph and drummer Justin Wilson. Smollardes and Miloszewski had previously worked together in another band. The first rehearsals followed in the basement of Wilson's parents, which resulted in a first demo that consisted of six songs. After an appearance in the CBGB , Elektra Records became aware of the band and signed them. The label released their debut album Laced in 1999. The sound carrier recorded the group under the direction of Steve Thompson in North Brookfield . The album was B-Real of Cypress Hill to hear as a guest musician. In the same year the group also took part in Woodstock III and the Vans Warped Tour . In 2000 the band took part in Ozzfest and also performed with Static-X and Pitchshifter , Machine Head , Primer 55 , Godsmack and Powerman 5000 . Her second album was released in September 2001 under the name Bleed the Sky and was produced by Howard Benson . In addition, the song What You Got was released as a single . Stephen Richards from Taproot could also be heard in the song Plastic . In January 2002 guitarist Greg Sullivan left the line-up and was replaced by Chris Turner. In the summer the band held a US tour with Sevendust , Filter , Gravity Kills , Audiovent , Nonpoint and Mushroomhead . During the tour, however, Miloszewski fell ill with Pfeiffer glandular fever , which is why the band could no longer participate in the remaining concerts. For the summer of 2003 the recordings of the third album were planned again with producer Howard Benson. However, before that, the band split up in 2003.
In 2008 the band reunited for a concert in Worcester , Massachusetts on December 26, 2008.
style
According to Christian Graf in his book Nu Metal and Crossover Lexikon , the band has been heavily influenced by groups like Tool , Black Sabbath , Public Enemy and House of Pain . The single What You Got is heavy rap metal. scaruffi.com described the band's music as a non-original copy of Rage Against the Machine . According to Allmusic's Tom Demalon in his review of Laced , the band has been heavily influenced by groups like Tool, Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine. Occasionally there is rapping in the songs . The songs would be angry like the works of Rage Against the Machine, but less original. Allmusic's Tom Semioli plays the band on Bleed the Sky Rap Metal and Rapcore with an evil attitude . The aggressive lyrics would make Eminem look old too . Otherwise, the songs are strongly focused on the electric guitars.
