Revolution in Frankfurt is a German television film from 1979. Directed by Fritz Umgelter .

The film, shot as a "historical documentary game", describes the so-called fat milk uprising or civil uprising in Frankfurt am Main in the period from 1612 to 1616. As part of the upcoming election of Matthias as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire , citizens are asked to take an oath for to abandon the protection and security of the electors gathered in the city. As part of the oath, guild citizens are threatened with the loss of their rights. Now they want to ask the council to disclose the privileges of which they have no idea.
Production and publication
The film was produced in 1979 under the direction of Fritz Umgelter by ELAN-Film on behalf of ZDF . The scriptwriter was Heinrich Leippe , and Wolfgang Hundhammer was responsible for the production design .
The broadcast was done by ZDF. Several repetitions followed later.
