Erwin Scherschel

Erwin Scherschel (born March 31, 1922 in Frankfurt am Main ; † September 14, 1997 ) was a German actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Scherschel completed an acting training at the University of Music and Theater in Frankfurt. There he also made his debut as an actor. He had other theater engagements in Gelsenkirchen , at the Stadttheater Mainz and at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden . In October 1953 he took part in the opening performance of the Landesbühne Rhein-Main ; in the comedy Minna von Barnhelm he played the sergeant Werner . Under the direction of William Dieterle , he played a small role as a guard in Antigone at the Bad Hersfeld Festival in 1962 . From 1969 to 1986 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Darmstadt . At the Hessische Spielgemeinschaft he was involved in a staging of the comedy The cheerful vineyard in 1977 . In the 1990s he also appeared several times at the Fritz-Rémond-Theater in the zoo . In 1991 he played there, together with Carlos Werner , under the direction of Egon Baumgarten in the comedy Schon wieder Sonntag . In 1992 he was there with Regine Vergeen in the comedy Cocktailstunde by Albert Ramsdell Gurney , again directed by Egon Baumgarten.

In addition to his theater career, Scherschel worked intensively as a speaker for radio plays . He was involved in numerous radio play productions that have now achieved cult status.

In the radio play series Geisterjäger John Sinclair on the label Tonstudio Braun he took on the roles of the various villains (Doctor Death, Black Death, Dr. Satanos). He worked in the Ghostbusters John Sinclair radio plays The Threat (1983), The Horror Castle in Spessart (1984) and Dr. Satanos with. He also worked in the Vanessa, the girlfriend of the ghost radio play series. He was also a speaker in the radio plays From China to the End of the World and From Kummerland to Lummerland from the radio play series Jim Button and Lukas the Engine Driver . In 1978, he took on the role of the old man in the radio play Florian, the Clown by Dieter Gürtler .

He was also involved in radio productions of radio plays. Scherschel also played numerous roles in television films and series from the late 1960s. Scherschel was mainly used as a character actor and folk actor , often in concise supporting roles. He played several times in television productions of plays. In 1961 he worked in small roles as a police officer (episode 24: The room ) and in 1963 as a hotel owner (episode 40: The former ) in the family series Die Firma Hesselbach . In 1971 he played the teacher Dempster in the multi-part television film The Woman in White . In 1976 he had a small role in the television multipart The Winter That Was A Summer . In 1979 he played the role of Schopp in the documentary television play Revolution in Frankfurt . In 1980 he played Weber Gumpert in the historic television series Die Menschen vom Domplatz . In the Tatort episode shadow boxing , he took on the role of manager Stolke in 1981 .

He often played in television series with a dialectic background, including in Hessian stories alongside Günter Strack , in These Drombuschs and in Moselbrück . Together with Liesel Christ he was seen in the 1984 television series Bei Mudder Liesl .

In 1979 he was on the ARD television show One Will Win as a performer and actor.

Scherschel was the father of a son from his first marriage. At his death he was married to the Frankfurt actress Christl Pfeil .
