Ricki Osterthun (born May 2, 1964 in Hamburg ) is a former German tennis player .

Life

In his professional career, Ricki Osterthun was able to win a singles tournament and three doubles tournaments in the ATP World Tour and in 1987 achieved his highest ranking in the ATP world rankings with 58th place .

In 1985 he won the individual title at the Dutch Open in Hilversum in five sets against the Swede Kent Carlsson . The following year he was in the final of the ATP tournament in Munich , in which he was defeated by Emilio Sánchez Vicario . In 1987 he reached the final in Toulouse , which Tim Mayotte won. At the Grand Slam tournament in Paris in 1987 he reached the second round. In doubles he won in Athens in 1987 alongside Tore Meinecke , in 1988 in Toulouse with Tom Nijssen and in 1989 in Nice with Udo Riglewski .

In 1986 and 1987 he was a member of the German Davis Cup team. In the 1987 relegation victory over the United States in Hartford , he lost the doubles alongside Eric Jelen against Ken Flach and Robert Seguso in three sets.

After the end of his professional career, Ricki Osterthun was active in sports marketing for many years. Since 2005 he has worked as a manager in the real estate industry.

He has been married to Christiane Osterthun since 1997 and has two children.
