Ridin ' is a song by the American rapper Chamillionaire , which he recorded together with rapper Krayzie Bone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony . It is the second single from his debut album The Sound of Revenge and was released on January 12, 2006. The song was produced by Play-N-Skillz . It is also known as Ridin 'Dirty because of the chorus . The lyrics are about racial profiling , police violence and stereotypes against African Americans like drug trafficking and other crimes .

Music video

The music video shows police officers trying to accuse Chamillionaire of multiple crimes, such as driving under the influence of psychoactive substances and prostitution . The police actions are also accompanied by wrestling scenes to show how the police allegedly treat suspects. The rest of the video is about Chamillionaire's escape from the police. It was recorded in Dallas , Texas and has cameo appearances from Tom Lister Jr. , Wish Bone , Layzie Bone , Play-N-Skillz , Chingo Bling , OG Ron C , Big Tuck and Chamillionaire's younger brother Rasaq.

At the 2007 Grammy Awards , the song won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group and was nominated for Best Rap Song . The song was also nominated for Best Rap Video at the MTV Video Music Awards 2006. In Rolling Stone magazine , the song made it to number 3 in the top 100 songs of 2006 and number 6 in music videos. It was the top-selling ringtone in 2006 with 3.2 million ringtones sold . In web culture , the song is often used to represent a gangster lifestyle.

Ridin ' has been awarded four times platinum for more than four million ringtones sold in the United States . In the UK, the song received a silver record for over 200,000 sales and gold for over 150,000 units in Germany.
