Rio Mangini

Rio Mangini (born October 6, 2002 ) is an American actor , pianist and voice actor . The three-time Young Artist Award winner became known through various Nickelodeon and Disney productions. From 2015 to 2016 he played the role of Ace McFumbles in Bella and the Bulldogs .

life and career

Rio Mangini was born on October 6, 2002. He began playing the piano in his early childhood and was often referred to as a child prodigy. After he was signed by the Abrams Artists Agency , he played at the renowned Carnegie Hall at the age of nine , where he then performed again. For his performance as a classical pianist, he was also honored with a special award in the “Outstanding Instrumentalist” category at the Young Artist Awards 2012 , and this year he was in front of the camera for the first time in a notable production as an actor. In addition to Rumer Willis and Josh Braaten, he took on the leading role of the autistic boy Jax in Lisanne Sartor's short film Six Letter Word . The film made it through the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase to the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 .

Various other assignments in film and television followed in 2013; including in the pilot film The Garcias Have Landed penned by Matt Wickline , who had already created several other series before that. Mangini was also featured in an episode of the short-lived Nickelodeon youth sitcom Marvin Marvin , took on the recurring character of Sam in five different episodes of Karate Chaots, and had three different roles in the sketch comedy series What if? . For his role as Sam , he received a Young Artist Award in the category "Best Recurring Actor in a TV Series - Ten Years or Younger" at the 2014 Young Artist Awards .

In 2014, the award-winning pianist was once again able to record numerous assignments as an actor and voice actor. In addition to one episode each of My Sister Charlie , Switched at Birth and Doc McStuffins, Toy Doctor, he also appeared as Carlos in two episodes of the third season of See Dad Run . For his guest appearance in My Sister Charlie , he was nominated the following year at the Young Artist Awards 2015 for a Young Artist Award in the category "Best Guest Actor in a TV Series - Between Eleven and 13 Years" and won in this category against Nick Cuthbertson , Justin Ellings and John Paul Ruttan prevail.
