Risk is a residential area in the Umfelde district of Wallstawe in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark residential area Risk is about two kilometers southwest of Wallstawe and one kilometer east of Peckensen. To the northeast is the approximately 66 meter high Johannisberg. The Röthenbach flows to the west.

history

On a map around 1780 the area is called Der Rieske Busch . Risk is listed in the official register of the desert field marks of the Salzwedel district from 1782 . Johann Friedrich Danneil reported in 1843 that the forest area Forst Risch or Risk belonged to the Joachimtal School Office in Dambeck . From a break southeast of the neighboring Peckensen , a Landwehr stretches along the border to Mehmker Holz through the forest area to Groß Bierstedt to the southeast, where the double wall with the ditch in between is then lost in the field. Danneil suspects that the Landwehr continued south-east via Rohrberg, Ahlum and Tangeln.

Wilhelm Zahn reports in 1909: “According to tradition, a Wendish village of Risk, Risch or Riesch is said to have been here. There are no traces of a settlement in the thick forest. In 1782 a forestry was established in the forest one kilometer east of Peckensen, which was named Risk ”.

Further mentions are Risch in 1789 , Risch and Riesch in 1804 and finally in 1873 Försterei Risk .

Incorporations

On September 30, 1928, the Risk manor district from the Salzwedel district was merged with the rural community of Umfelde . On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Umfelde was incorporated into the municipality of Gieseritz from the Salzwedel district . As a result of the merger of the community of Gieseritz with other communities to form the new Wallstawe on July 1, 2009, the district of Umfelde with the Risk residential area became Wallstawe.
