Umfelde is a district of the municipality Wallstawe in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The Altmark village of Umfelde is about three kilometers southwest of Wallstawe and 14 kilometers southwest of the district town of Salzwedel . To the northwest lies the approximately 49 meter high Strohberg, to the west the approximately 66 meter high Johannisberg. The Molmker Bach flows in the north.

In addition to the village of Umfelde, the district of Umfelde also includes the Risk residential area 2 kilometers to the south-west .
history
The first documented mention of Umfelde as vmuelde comes from the year 1344, when Margrave Ludwig left the Dambeck monastery to lifts from several villages. In 1356 Mathyas de Ummenfelde was named in Salzwedel.
In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 Umbfelde is listed with a mill. Dambeck Monastery and von Bartensleben had income here.
The village is mentioned in 1492, but soon after it was desolate . The old village was located 500 meters northwest of today's location on the south side of the Molmker Bach. After 1801, Schernebeck bought the desert Feldmark and built what would later become the Umfelde estate.
The historian Peter Rohrlach agrees with Wilhelm Zahn that the documentary mentions In curti Humenuel de Bruchdorp from 1112 (to which Hermes and Weigelt refer) and in Hummenvelde from 1178 probably do not refer to this environment. Walter Zöllner assigns these documents to Umfelde (district of Gieseritz) in the register of the Hamersleben monastery’s collection of documents.
On May 4, 1903, the manor district Umfelde in the district of Salzwedel was converted into a rural municipality Umfelde.
Incorporations
On September 30, 1928, the Risk Manor was merged with the rural community of Umfelde. On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Umfelde was incorporated into the municipality of Gieseritz from the Salzwedel district .
When the municipality of Gieseritz merged with other municipalities to form the new Wallstawe on July 1, 2009, the district of Umfelde became part of Wallstawe.

The evangelical Christians from Umfelde belonged to the parish Hilmsen. In 1928 they were repared to Gieseritz. Today the parish of Gieseritz belongs to the parish of Diesdorf in the parish of Salzwedel in the Provostspengel Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
Culture and sights
- The pigeon tower in Umfelde is a listed building. It was restored after the fall of the Wall . The red stone surfaces of the half-timbered structure were re-bricked and the tower received a gutter.
- The cemetery is northwest of the village in the forest.
