history

The area has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age. At the beginning of the Metal Age , lead and crystal deposits were first exploited, and iron ore was also mined in Celtic times . Its smelting fell victim to large areas of the post-glacial primeval forests to generate energy, the areas that were released were used for agriculture and livestock, and even in Roman times they were never reforested. It can be assumed that the area was completely uninhabited in the late Roman period and during the troubled times of the Great Migration , as archaeological horizons did not start again until the Carolingian period. From the early Middle Ages have been preserved, for example, the so-called killer stone , a medieval granite Tele the 300 meters southeast of rissing toward the Leitenfeld it in the midst of a Neolithic ground monument is located.

In the late 17th century there were seven farmsteads in Rißsing, slightly different in size and economic orientation. The hamlet time numbered probably about 40 - 50 souls.

Between 1970 and 1980 the place was incorporated into Cham . Today the village has about 90 inhabitants.
