Coat of arms history
Part of today's Municipality Traitsching belonged before 1848 to manorial Loifling . The coat of arms of Traitsching shows heraldic images from the family coats of arms of two noble families that are important for the history of the manor. The bearded male head with the pointed cap, a so-called Heidenkopf (heraldry) or Heidenrumpf, stands for the Frankish knightly family of Stettner, also resident at Grabenhof in Neuburg an der Donau , Canton Altmühl and Odenwald; the deer antlers for the Poissl family, who can be proven to have owned the Hofmark Loifling from the 15th to the 19th century. (Oberpfälzer Wappenbuch. Public coats of arms of the Upper Palatinate, Regensburg 1991, page 64 f.) The Leonhard Stettner School Wilting in Traitsching got its name in memory of the Stettner knight family, presumably a dean Leonhard in Cham (Upper Palatinate) is the namesake.
