Geographical location

Pemfling is located in the Regensburg region near the district town of Cham (Upper Palatinate) in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park .

There are the districts of Engelsdorf, Grafenkirchen, Kager, Pemfling, Pitzling and Rhanwalting. Parts of the Rhanwalting district are also located in Cham and Waffenbrunn .

history

Until the church is planted

The local nobility of the Pemflingers can be traced from 1267 to the middle of the 15th century. Pemfling was part of the Straubing Rent Office and the Cham Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Incorporations

In 1946 the former municipality of Kager was incorporated. On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Engelsdorf with its parts of the municipality Albersdorf, Engelsdorf, Höfenmühle, Oberdeschenried, Rannersdorf and Schiltlmühle and the municipality of Pitzling with the parts of Au, Aumühle, Bierlhof, Frieding, Großbergerdorf, Pitzling and Ried, as well as parts of the municipality of Rhanwalting with the place Elsing. Grafenkirchen with the parish parts of Beutelsbach, Birkmühle, Höllmühle, Löwendorf and Schmitzdorf followed on May 1, 1978. From May 1, 1978 to December 31, 1979 Pemfling was part of the Willmering administrative community , and since January 1, 1980 the community has had its own administration again.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018, the community grew from 2,095 to 2,224 by 129 inhabitants or 6.2%.

City council and mayor

14 voluntary citizens sit on the municipal council. The municipal council election on March 15, 2020 led to the following result with a turnout of 77%:

Franz Haberl (CSU) has been honorary mayor since May 1, 2008; he was last re-elected on March 15, 2020 with 58.8% of the valid votes.

The description reads: Under a silver shield head, inside a blue left-hand bar, in red a silver zigzag bar above a silver, floating St. Andrew's cross. The coat of arms has been used since 1983.

Architectural monuments

The oldest building in the town was the Zehentstadel until it was demolished in 2010, the foundation walls of which date from the Middle Ages. The demolition of the listed building that defines the location was approved by the district administration at the instigation of the owners. The owner argued with unreasonable living conditions and plans to build a new building for it.

In 2017 there were 248 jobs subject to social security contributions in the municipality. Of the resident population, 920 people were in employment subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 672 more than that of in-commuters. 24 residents were unemployed. In 2016 there were 86 farms; 2,222 hectares of the municipal area were used for agriculture.

There are the following facilities:

  • Daycare center with 62 places and 76 children (as of March 1, 2018) and
  • Primary school with five teachers and 65 students (school year 2018/19).
