Robert Hrgota (born August 2, 1988 in Celje ) is a former Slovenian ski jumper .

Career

He competed in his first competition in the Slovenian national team as a junior on September 11, 2004 at an FIS competition in Villach . Due to his consistently good performance, he was accepted into the Continental Cup team in 2006. At the Junior World Championships on February 2, 2006 in Kranj , he was able to achieve 8th place on the normal hill.

On February 4, 2007 Hrgota had his first use in a World Cup show jumping. In Titisee-Neustadt he reached the 45th place on the large hill. But this was the only assignment in the World Cup team for another two years. He continued to only start in the Continental Cup and was able to jump onto the podium for the first time on February 10, 2007 on the Snowflake hill in Westby, USA, with third place. At the Junior World Championships on March 15, 2007 in Tarvisio , Italy , he was able to set an exclamation point in jumping on the normal hill with 18th place, before he surprisingly won the gold medal in team jumping a day later with the team. Since January 9th, 2009 Hrgota has been jumping in the World Cup in addition to the Continental Cup. In ski flying in Tauplitz , however, he failed with 39th place in the first round. It was not until the World Cup ski flying in Oberstdorf on February 14th, 2009 that he was able to collect his first World Cup points with the 27th place. On February 15, he was fifth with the team together with Primož Pikl , Robert Kranjec and Rok Urbanc . Hrgota achieved his best World Cup result so far on March 22, 2009 with 22nd place in ski flying in Planica .

Hrgota celebrated his greatest success so far in the adult sector on July 20, 2012 when he and the Slovenian team won the team competition at the Summer Grand Prix in Wisła , Poland . At the Slovenian normal hill championships, which were held on October 6, 2012 in Kranj , he jumped on the podium for the first time in third place.
