Rolf Langenfass

Rolf Langenfass (born June 9, 1944 in Bayrischzell , Germany , † April 20, 2012 in Vienna ) was an Austrian costume and set designer of German origin.

After graduating from high school, Langenfass studied theater studies in Munich . He received his training as a costume and set designer at the Wimbledon School of Art in London . Since 1975 he lived in Vienna and worked many times in Austria , e.g. B. for the Vienna State Opera , the Vienna Volksoper , the Theater an der Wien , the Burgtheater and the Vienna Volkstheater and also received Austrian citizenship. He also took part in the Salzburg and Bregenz Festivals and the Munich Opera Festival and was closely associated with the Mörbisch Seefestspiele and the Graz Opera . He has also received invitations to the opera houses in Düsseldorf , Hamburg , Cologne , Munich , Berlin , Gothenburg , Oslo , Basel , Zurich and in New York to the Metropolitan Opera and City Opera .

Opened in April 2004, Sisi Museum in the Vienna Hofburg he designed with significant, as is the renovation in June 2009. From 1993 to 2011 was a long barrel outfitter of the Mörbisch Lake Festival , he moved in 2012 in the battle its name from the Gypsy Baron production back.
