Rudolf VI. von Werdenberg-Sargans (* 1344 , † 1367 in Rhodes ) was a count from the Werdenberg family , a noble family in the Upper Rhine Valley . He is considered the second count in the County of Vaduz .

Life

Rudolf VI. von Werdenberg-Sargans was a son of Hartmann III. from Werdenberg-Sargans . His mother was Agnes von Montfort-Feldkirch . Since his father died in 1354, he was under the care of his uncle Rudolf IV von Werdenberg-Sargans , who, together with his mother, took control of what is now Liechtenstein until he came of age. His father and uncle had signed a deed for the division of the country on May 3, 1342 in Sargans Castle . As a result, the Werdenberg-Sargans dominion was divided into a left and a right half on the Rhine. The Rhine still forms the border between Austria , Liechtenstein and Switzerland today . It was not until 1363 that he was able to take control of Vaduz and ruled together with his brother Rudolf VI. from Werdenberg-Sargans. His third brother had entered the clergy and later became Bishop of Chur . In 1365 he took part in a feud against Konrad von Freiberg , and was captured. He was released from his family for a ransom. On December 6, 1366 he broke with his uncle, Count Ulrich III. von Montfort-Feldkirch, went on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem , but both died in Rhodes in 1367.
