Rudolf Widmann

Rudolf Widmann (born September 17, 1929 in Starnberg ; † April 14, 2000 ibid) was a German local and state politician of the FDP and belonged to the Bavarian state parliament in the 5th legislative period (1962–1966) .

Life

After graduating from high school, Widmann studied law at the Philosophical-Theological University of Bamberg , which he completed in 1956 after stops in Munich , Mainz and Würzburg . He received his doctorate in 1961 .

After completing his studies, Widmann initially worked in the civil service and then moved to Innwerk AG in Töging am Inn as a business lawyer . In 1960 he founded his own law firm. From 1981 to 1984 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom .

Public offices

Widmann was elected to the city ​​council of Starnberg in 1956 , and in 1960 he was elected first mayor . From November 25, 1962 to November 29, 1966 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament , where he was a member of the committee for rules of procedure and election review and the committee for security issues. After the FDP failed to pass the five percent hurdle in the 1966 state elections , he left the state parliament, but remained Mayor of Starnberg. In 1969 he was the only FDP - district in Bavaria and ruled the district of Starnberg to 1996. successor as mayor was Starnberg Heribert Thallmair .
