Ruffus

Ruffus is an Estonian band. She represented the country at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest after winning the 2003 Eurolaul .

Ruffus was originally founded under the name Claire's Birthday in 1997. They describe themselves as an indie rock band. The band achieved their breakthrough on the Estonian market in 1999 with the song Ladies Love Me . In 2000, the hit song Venus appeared in the band's album of the same name. After winning the Estonian national qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest, Claire's Birthday was renamed Ruffus . At the final in Riga in 2003 , the band landed on the 21st place with the song Eighties Coming Back . Ruffus only released the album Lessons in Pop afterwards .

Singer and songwriter of the song "Eighties Coming Back", Vaiko Eplik , released the indie albums Vaiko Eplik ja Eliit I, II (Aastaajad), III (Kosmoseodüsseia) and, recorded in Estonian, under his label "Mortimer Snerd" from 2006 to 2009 IV (Neljas), together with the Estonian formation Eliit, an association of various Estonian rock musicians. The CDs were released internationally via iTunes and other download portals.
