Laura Põldvere , also known as Laura (2013-2016 as Laura Remmel ; born August 30, 1988 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian singer who competed in 2005 with the band Suntribe for Estonia at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest .

Põldvere was married to the pianist Joel-Rasmus Remmel from 2013-2016 as Laura Remmel.

Career

Põldvere's career began in 2005 when she competed at Eurolaul 2005 with the title Moonwalk . She reached second place and became the front woman of the girl group Suntribe . At Eurolaul 2007 she also appeared with the song Sunflowers , with which she made it to third place. In September 2007 she released her debut album Muusa . In 2009 she took part again in the Estonian preliminary round, this time with the title Destiny , with which she finished third. In 2016 she returned to the Eesti Laul and again achieved second place with the title Supersonic . On March 4, 2017, she and Koit Toome were able to  prevail at the final of the Eesti Laul and therefore represented Estonia with the song Verona at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev . After participating in the second semi-final, however, they could not qualify for the final.
