Evelin Samuel (born May 13, 1975 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian jazz and musical singer.

Evelin Samuel is one of the most famous singers in Estonia. She began her musical career in 1992 with Irish folk music , acoustic guitar and violin. Evelin Samuel won the Baltic singing competition Via Baltica in 1993 and the Estonian competition Uus viis in 1994 . For five years she was a member of the band Easy Living . In 2002 she released her only album to date, Over the Water Blue .

Evelin Samuel is also known as a musical star. She celebrated her greatest successes with Jesus Christ Superstar (1992), Oliver! (2003) and Miss Saigon (2004/2005).

Eurovision Song Contest

Evelin Samuel represented Estonia in 1999 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem . She performed there with the young violinist Camille (real name: Imbi-Camille Rätsep). With the song Diamond of Night , she reached 90 points and took sixth place. It was the first Estonian Eurovision contribution that was not sung in Estonian .

Private life

Evelin Samuel lives with the business journalist Raimo Ülavere. The couple have a son together. (* 2006).
