Jüri Pootsmann (born July 1, 1994 in Raikküla ) is an Estonian singer .

life and career

Jüri Pootsmann was born on July 1, 1994 in Raikküla.

In spring 2015 he won the sixth season of the casting show Eesti otsib superstaari , Estonia's variant of Germany seeks the superstar . On March 5, 2016 he won the Eesti Laul , the Estonian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song Play . He represented his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm . However, he could not qualify for the final.

Pootsmann is under contract with Universal Music Group .
