Sahlene (2008)

Sahlene (born May 11, 1976 in Sandarne near Söderhamn , Sweden ), real name Anna Cecilia Sahlin , is a Swedish pop singer .

Early years

Sahlene made her debut at the age of eleven in the children's film Wir Kinder aus Bullerbü (Director: Lasse Hallström based on a book by Astrid Lindgren ). At eighteen she began her career as a singer in the Stockholm band Rhythm Avenue . In 1998 she left the band and worked as a background singer for Swedish show greats such as Eric Gadd , Carola Häggkvist , Robyn and Charlotte Perrelli . With the latter she won in 1999 the Euro Vision Song Contest in Jerusalem .

Solo singer

In 2000, Sahlene's first single, The Little Voice, was released . The album of the same name was never released due to the bankruptcy of the record company. Sahlene won the Estonian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 with the song Runaway (text: Jana Hallas; melody: Pearu Paulus, Ilmar Laisaar and Alar Kotkas). With 111 points she reached third place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn .

In April 2003 Sahlene released her first album It's Been a While . Her album Photograph was released in 2005 . Today she appears under the name Anna Sahlene .

Private life

In June 2006 Anna Sahlin had a daughter.
