Elina Born (born June 29, 1994 in Lehtse ) is an Estonian singer . Together with Stig Rästa , she represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna , Austria .

Life

In 2012 Elina Born became known in Estonia by participating in the fifth season of Eesti otsib superstaari , the Estonian counterpart to Deutschland sucht den Superstar , where she took second place. In 2013 she took part in the Eesti Laul , the Estonian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , for the first time and was awarded the title Enough Eighth. Together with Stig Rästa and the title Goodbye to Yesterday she returned to Eesti Laul in 2015. The duo was seen as a favorite to win even before the competition, sometimes even as a title contender for the ESC in Vienna . They reached the final of the preliminary decision on February 21 and were able to win the Estonian ticket for Vienna with 79% of the votes in the superfinal of the last three. At the contest in Vienna, the duo reached seventh place in the final. In 2017 she again took part in the Eesti Laul with the song In or Out, written by Stig Rästa , and landed in tenth and last place in the final.
