Ruslan Nikolajewitsch Muraschow ( Russian Руслан Николаевич Мурашов ; born December 29, 1992 in Voskressensk , Moscow Oblast ) is a Russian speed skater .

Career

Muraschow made his World Cup debut at the beginning of the 2014/15 season in Obihiro . There he took fourth and third place over 500 m and thus achieved his first podium. At the following World Cup in Seoul he came in third place over 500 m again. In February 2015 he was sixth in the 2 × 500 m run at the individual distance world championships in Heerenveen . At the subsequent Sprint World Championship 2015 in Astana , he achieved 23rd place in the sprint all-around competition. At the World Cup final in Erfurt , he took his first World Cup victory over 500 m and thus achieved third place in the overall World Cup over 500 m. At the beginning of the following season he took third place in the team sprint in Calgary . At the World Cup in Heerenveen he won over 500 m and finished second in the team sprint. This was followed by three second and one third place. He also won his third World Cup victory in Heerenveen over 500 m in March 2016 and came second in the overall World Cup over 500 m at the end of the season. In February 2016 he won the silver medal in the 2 × 500 m run at the individual distance world championships in Kolomna and finished 11th in the sprint world championships in Seoul. In the 2016/17 season he won three 500 m victories and also finished second once. At the 2017 World Single Distance Championships in Gangwon , he won the bronze medal over 500 m and came 19th in the 1000 m run. He finished the season in the 500 m World Cup in second place. The following season he was third in the team sprint in Heerenveen and first over 500 m in Salt Lake City . At the 2018 European Championships in Kolomna, he won the gold medal in the team sprint and also ran in ninth place over 500 m.

In the 2018/19 season Muraschow won the team sprint in Tomakomai and took third place in the team sprint in Tomaszów Mazowiecki . In Hamar he finished second over 500 m and at the end of the season he finished seventh in the overall World Cup over 500 m. At the individual distance world championships in Inzell in 2019 , he won the bronze medal in the team sprint and the gold medal over 500 m. At the end of February 2019, he finished tenth at the Sprint World Championship in Heerenveen .
