Ruth Paulig
Ruth Paulig (born July 7, 1949 in Seefeld ) is a Bavarian politician .
Paulig was a member of the green parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament for two electoral terms from 1986 to 1994 and was re-elected to the state parliament from 1998 to 2008 via the list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .
education and profession
After graduating from school in 1968, Paulig studied biology. She completed her studies in 1973 with the exam to graduate - biologist focusing Microtechnology from. From 1974 she was a research assistant at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . At the same time she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1979 she passed the first and second state exams, which enabled her to teach art.
She worked for several years as an art teacher at grammar schools in Germering , Gilching and Munich or as a biologist. In 1994 she returned to her profession as an art teacher .
Political party
Like Petra Kelly and Gert Bastian, Ruth Paulig is one of the founding fathers and mothers of the Green Party in Bavaria. In December 1996 she became the Bavarian state chairwoman of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and held this office until 1998.
Activity as a member of parliament
In 1986 she was elected to the state parliament. This success was mainly attributed to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster . From 1998 to 2000 she was chairman of the green parliamentary group.
She was deputy chairwoman of the committee for the environment and consumer protection ("Environment Committee") and environmental policy spokeswoman for her group. To state elections in Bavaria in 2008 , they did not stand for re-election.
Others
Ruth Paulig has three sons. She is the aunt of Ludwig Hartmann , the spokesman for the Greens in the Bavarian state parliament and their top candidate for the state elections in 2018. In 2001 she received the Bavarian Order of Merit .
