Ryan Lasch (born January 22, 1987 in Lake Forest , California ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with Frölunda HC in the Svenska Hockeyligan since 2017 .
Career
Lasch began his career in the 2004/05 season with the Pembroke Lumber Kings in the junior league Canadian Junior Hockey League and was there for two seasons on the ice. Between 2006 and 2010 he played for the university team of St. Cloud State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , which is incorporated into the game operations of the NCAA . In the summer of 2010, the American decided to move to Europe and joined the Swedish first division club Södertälje SK , for which he was active in the 2010/11 season . For the following season Lasch moved to the Pelicans in the Finnish SM-liiga , where he marked the most scorer points in the league with 24 hits and 38 assists from 59 games this season and was then awarded the Veli-Pekka-Ketola trophy .
Then the attacker returned to North America and signed a two-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks from the National Hockey League , where he was first used during the lockout in the 2012/13 season with the farm team Norfolk Admirals in the second-rate American Hockey League (AHL) and also made some games for the Fort Wayne Komets in the East Coast Hockey League . Between January and March 2013 Lasch played on loan with the Växjö Lakers in the Elitserien , before he was transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for David Steckel . There the right-shooter played for the remainder of the season with the Toronto Marlies farm team in the AHL.
In the 2013/14 season , Lasch played again for the Lakers in the Elitserien, before moving to TPS in the Liiga in the summer of 2014 . In January 2015 the attacker went back to Sweden again and was signed by Frölunda HC . Lasch played a very successful 2015/16 season there: He won the Swedish championship title and the Champions Hockey League (CHL) with Frölunda . In the European Cup he was named the best player of the season, he led the Swedish league in the categories of assists and points.
In September 2016 he was signed by SC Bern from the Swiss National League A (NLA). He became Swiss champion with Mutzen and was used in 62 NLA games (17 hits, 34 assists) on the way to winning the title. In April 2017, Frölunda announced HC Lasch's return, the American signed a contract with the Swedes until 2020.
