In the genre Hz 0 the associated Royal Saxon State Railways triaxial steam railcar of the type Thomas a.

history

The three double-decker railcars were built in 1883 by Hohenzollern AG with the serial numbers 293-295 for the Royal Saxon State Railways. The car parts were classified independently in class 201.

The vehicles were used around Leipzig and Pirna . They were retired by 1900.

technical features

The three-axle vehicles consisted of a single-axle machine car and a close-coupled, double-decker passenger car . The machine carriage could be provided with a support axle for repair purposes and then moved individually.

A normal steam locomotive boiler was used as the steam generator , which was installed transversely for reasons of space. The steam engine was the inboard wet steam - engine running with Joy handlebar control.

The passenger car corresponded to the construction principles of the time with iron side members and wooden car bodies . The low-floor lower floor is remarkable for the time . A noteworthy construction detail is the long girder , which is pulled up at one end and provided with the buffer beam. The second class compartment with 20 seats was together with a small luggage compartment in the lower floor, the third class compartment with 60 seats was on the narrower upper floor. From around 1900 all compartments were assigned to the 4th class. The car was heated with a steam heater ; Oil lamps were used for lighting .
