Prince Sébastien of Luxembourg

Sébastien Henri Marie Guillaume von Nassau (born April 16, 1992 in the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg ) is Prince of Luxembourg , Prince of Nassau and Bourbon-Parma . He is the youngest son of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and his wife Maria Teresa Mestre y Batista and, due to the constitutional amendment in 2011, he is 7th in the line of succession after his older brothers, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and his son Charles, Prince Félix , his children Amalia and Liam, and himself Sister Princess Alexandra . His brother Louis renounced his claims to the throne with his marriage.

After kindergarten in Angelsberg, Sébastien attended St. George's International School in Luxembourg and then continued his school career in Great Britain. He first attended the Summer Fields School and completed secondary school at Ampleforth College . In 2011 he graduated from the International School of Luxembourg with a high school diploma.

In 2015, he received his Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communication in the United States. In 2017 he graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst .

Sébastien has been a Knight of the Nassau House Order of the Golden Lion since 2010 .

Tasks and interests

Sébastien regularly takes part in the activities of the grand ducal family and official events such as the national holiday or the closing ceremony of the Octave of Our Lady .

In addition, the prince is the supreme patron of the Luxembourg water rescue organization “Fédération luxembourgeoise de natation et de sauvetage” .

rugby

Sébastien discovered rugby during his time at Ampleforth College . After playing for his club Rugby Club Luxembourg (RCL) for several years, he was elected a regular for the Luxembourg national rugby union team . He is currently an integral part of his university's team.
