VfR 1897 Breslau - Southeast German champion

The southeast German soccer championship in 1907/08 was the second edition of the southeast German soccer championship of the Southeast German Football Association (SOFV). VfR 1897 Breslau won the championship with a 5-2 victory over FC Preußen 05 Katowitz in the final. By winning the association championship, the Breslau team qualified for the German football championship 1907/08 , in which the club lost 3-1 in the quarter-finals against Wacker Leipzig and was eliminated from the competition.

The soccer championship was played again this year in four regional 1st district classes, the winners of which qualified for the final round. The 2nd classes were arranged under the 1st class.

    Newcomers to the 1908/09 season: FC Hertha Breslau

    District class II Niederlausitz

    The championship was not yet over by the registration date, the district then registered the leading club Alemannia Cottbus for the final round. However, Brandenburg Cottbus later became the class winner in a play-off game . Because of these disputes within the district, no club from Niederlausitz took part in the south-east German final.

    The final round of the southeast German soccer championship was played again this season in the knockout system . The winners of the individual district classes were qualified. With the victory over FC Preußen Kattowitz , the Breslauers were able to qualify as Southeast German champions for the German soccer championship 1907/08 .
