history

Landwehr station around 1910

The station was opened on December 5, 1906 as part of the Hamburg-Altona connecting line. As one of the few buildings in the neighborhood, the old station building survived the Second World War undamaged, but was severely neglected in the following years, the old station building was demolished in the 1970s and replaced by a simple staircase, which has been equipped with an elevator since July 2011 . The S-Bahn station is served by the main line S1 and the amplifier line S11.
