Street and Racing Technology
Street and Racing Technology (SRT) is the in-house tuning company for vehicles from the Chrysler , Dodge and Jeep brands .
SRT started out as "Team Viper" to develop the Dodge Viper . With the "Team Prowler", which had developed the Plymouth Prowler , one merged to Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE). This was later renamed Performance Vehicle Operations (PVO). Since all PVO vehicles use the abbreviation SRT , it was decided in 2004 to also give the development team this name.
The models developed by SRT all have the abbreviation SRT in addition to the model designation of the normal series models , followed by the number of engine cylinders . So z. B. Chrysler 300C SRT8 . The only exception was the Dodge SRT-4, which was based on the Dodge Neon and where the name Neon was omitted. The hyphen still used there has now been dropped.
