Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire is a small town and a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Loire-Authion with 2,476 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Saintmaturinois .
With effect from January 1, 2016, the municipalities of Andard , Bauné , La Bohalle , Brain-sur-l'Authion , Corné , La Daguenière and Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire were merged into a Commune nouvelle called Loire-Authion. The municipality of Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Angers-7 (until 2015: canton of Les Ponts-de-Cé ).

The place is about 18 kilometers east-southeast of Angers on the northern bank of the Loire , whose valley here is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Anjou wine-growing region .
The place has a train station on the Tours – Saint-Nazaire railway line .
