Sainte-Innocence is a village and a former French municipality with 99 inhabitants (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belonged to the Arrondissement Bergerac and the canton Sud-Bergeracois (until 2015: canton Eymet ).

The decree of September 25, 2018 established the incorporation of Sainte-Innocence as Commune déléguée together with the former communes of Sainte-Eulalie-d'Eymet and Saint-Julien-d'Eymet into the Commune nouvelle Saint-Julien with effect from January 1, 2019 -Innocence-Eulalie feast . The administrative headquarters are in Sainte-Innocence.

The name in the Occitan language is Senta Denença .

The inhabitants are called Innocentiens and Innocentiennes .

Sainte-Innocence is located about 15 km southwest of Bergerac in the Bergeracois area of the historic province of Périgord on the southern edge of the department.

Population development

After records began, the number of inhabitants rose to a peak of around 390 at the beginning of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of Sainte-Innocence decreased with short periods of recovery until today.
