The canton of Eymet was a French canton in the Arrondissement Bergerac , in the Dordogne department and in the Aquitaine region until 2015 . Henri Delage ( PS ) was last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2008 to 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the "Bergerac District". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Bergerac.

geography

The canton bordered the canton Sigoulès in the north, the canton Issigeac in the east, the canton Castillonnès in the arrondissement Villeneuve-sur-Lot in the Lot-et-Garonne department in the southeast, and the canton Lauzun in the Marmande arrondissement in the Lot department in the south -et-Garonne and in the west to the canton Duras , also in the arrondissement Marmande (Lot-et-Garonne). It had an average height of 244 meters, between 41 meters in Eymet and 193 meters in Sadillac .
