The canton of Vélines was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Bergerac in the Dordogne and in the region of Aquitaine ; his main town was Vélines , representative in the General Council of the Département was last from 2001 to 2015, re-elected in 2008, Serge Fourcaud ( PS ).

The canton was 136.99 km² and had 9,707 inhabitants (1999), which corresponded to a population density of 71 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 63 meters above sea level , between 2 m in Lamothe-Montravel and 167 m in Port-Sainte-Foy-et-Ponchapt .
The area of the canton was largely identical to that of the Montravel wine-growing region .
