The canton of Hautefort is a former French canton in the Arrondissement Périgueux , in the Dordogne department and in the Aquitaine region , which existed until 2015 .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 in the course of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the "Périgueux District". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Périgueux.

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Excideuil , in the east on the canton Ayen in the arrondissement Brive-la-Gaillarde in the department Corrèze ( Limousin ), in the south on the canton Terrasson-Lavilledieu in the arrondissement Sarlat-la-Canéda , in the south-west on the Thenon canton and in the west to the canton Savignac-les-Églises .
