The canton of Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière was until 2015 a French constituency in the Arrondissement Nontron in the Dordogne department and in the Aquitaine region ; its main town was Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière , representative in the General Council of the Département has been since 2001, re-elected in 2008, Georges Colas.
geography
The canton was 214.81 km² and had 4,462 inhabitants (2008), which corresponds to a population density of 21 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 257 meters above sea level , between 125 m in Saint-Front-la-Rivière and 451 m in Firbeix .
The canton bordered in the north on the Haute-Vienne ( canton Saint-Mathieu and canton Châlus ), in the east on the canton Jumilhac-le-Grand , in the southeast on the canton Thiviers , in the south on the canton Champagnac-de-Belair and in the west to the canton of Nontron .
