The Salzburger Eisenbahn Transportlogistik GmbH (short: SETG ) is a railway company founded in 2001 with headquarters in Salzburg . The company transports block trains mainly in Austria and Germany with its own and leased electric and diesel locomotives .
history
Salzburger Eisenbahn Transportlogistik was founded on August 22, 2001 by three shareholders. The shares held at the beginning: 45% Mittelweserbahn , 45% H. Kühne Treuhand and 10% Gunther Pitterka. Since 2010, Salzburger Eisenbahn Transportlogistik has been 100% owned by managing director Gunther Pitterka. As early as 2001, when the company was founded, the first round timber block trains were driven for customers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (D). At that time the trains were tractioned by the partner Mittelweserbahn.
In June 2003 the Ecco-Cargo network, a private railway network for single wagon and wagon group consignments in Germany and Austria, was started. In 2004, together with M. Kaindl KG in Salzburg, the Kaindl shuttle was put on the rails, which since then has been operating twice a day between the Kaindl locations in Salzburg-Liefering and Hüttau / Lungötz. The relocation of these more than 700,000 tons per year from road to rail was carried out by the then project manager at M. Kaindl. Holzindustrie, Friedrich Ahammer and Gunther Pitterka, CEO of SETG, initiated. Another special feature are the 30 'transport containers from Multibox GmbH, which are equipped with special Wingliner doors
In 2005, the first international round timber block trains from Denmark and Germany were driven to Austria. In the same year the German branch in Freilassing was founded. In 2007 operating personnel (wagon master) were trained and employed for the first time. Cross-border transports from Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic to Germany started in 2009, and a year later also from Ukraine to German customers. From 2010 further training of wagon masters and train drivers followed. 32 train drivers and wagon masters / shunting attendants are employed at SETG (as of April 2015).
In 2013, with over 3.5 million tons transported and an annual turnover of EUR 38.7 million, the previous record in the company's history was achieved. In 2014 the subsidiaries S-Air Salzburg Flugbetrieb GmbH (S-AIR) and S-RAIL GmbH were founded. In 2014, the first four high-performance class 193 “Vectron” electric locomotives were put into operation. In 2018, 3 BR 187 locomotives from the manufacturer Bombardier followed.
Today the company also has a branch in Freilassing .
