The combined community of Bad Grund (Harz) was a combined community in what was then Lower Saxony's district of Osterode am Harz . Five communities had come together in it to do their administrative business.

The town of Seesen ( Goslar district ) was located north of the municipality, the mountain town of Wildemann (Goslar district ) to the northeast , the town of Osterode am Harz (Osterode am Harz district) to the south and Kalefeld ( Northeim district ) to the west .

Incorporations

The member communities formed the joint community of Bad Grund on July 1, 1972 through the Harz Act . At the same time, the communities from the dissolved Gandersheim district were assigned to the Osterode am Harz district.

On March 1, 2013, the law on the reorganization of the municipality of Bad Grund (Harz), district of Osterode am Harz , came into force on July 18, 2012. The combined community dissolved, the community of Bad Grund (Harz) is the legal successor.

Joint council

The last joint council consisted of 22 council members. This is the specified number for a joint municipality with a population between 8001 and 9000 inhabitants. The council members were elected by local elections for five years each. The term of office began on November 1, 2011 and ended on February 28, 2013 with the dissolution of the Bad Grund municipality.

The full-time mayor of the municipality was also entitled to vote and to sit in the municipal council.
