Sandrine Piau

Sandrine Piau (born June 5, 1965 in Issy-les-Moulineaux ) is a French opera singer (soprano).

Life

Sandrine Piau studied harp and singing at the Paris Conservatory and graduated from Versailles. She first became known as a singer in the field of historical performance practice .

However, their repertoire today consists of music from different epochs. She sings works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Claude Debussy , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Christoph Willibald Gluck , Carl Maria von Weber and Benjamin Britten and others. She works mainly as an opera and concert singer on large stages. In recent years she has appeared in London, Bologna, Bordeaux and at the festivals in Salzburg, Montreux , Aix-en-Provence , Drottningholm and Dresden. As a soprano, she also works with the Berlin Philharmonic .

The conductors who work with her are William Christie , Philippe Herreweghe , Frans Brüggen , Paul McCreesh , René Jacobs , Marc Minkowski , Kurt Masur and Jean-Christophe Spinosi . She has released several CDs with songs by Debussy and arias by Mozart. As a specialist in baroque music, she has earned an excellent reputation in collaboration with Christophe Rousset , Maurice Steger , Diego Fasolis and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra .
