Santa Cruz is a place on the east coast of the Portuguese island of Madeira . The municipality of Santa Cruz covers 28 km² and has 7224 inhabitants. It is the seat of the district of the same name, to which four other communities belong. Madeira International Airport is located in Santa Cruz.

A silver stepped cross in green accompanied by two golden vine leaves. On each leaf there is a blue bunch of grapes covered by a quinas . A silver, five-tower wall crown above the shield . In the white band at the base of the shield, the place name in black letters "SANTA CRUZ".

The flag is square and quartered in green and white. The coat of arms rests in the middle with only four towers on the top of the wall.
Santa Cruz County
The district ( município ) Santa Cruz is 81.5 km² and has 43,000 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). It borders on the counties of Santana and Machico in the north, Funchal in the west and the Atlantic Ocean in the southeast. It also includes the Ilhas Desertas and is divided into five parishes ( Freguesias ):

The entire county is experiencing a sharp increase in population as many residents of Funchal have moved here due to the lower rents in recent years.

A silver three-tower wall crown over the shield . In the white band at the base of the shield, the name in black letters for the Santa Cruz circle "FREGUESIA DE SANTA CRUZ".
