Santo Tomás is located in the Centro-Oriente sub-region in Atlántico at an altitude of 8 m above sea level. NN , 23 km from Barranquilla and has an average annual temperature of 28 ° C. The eastern border of the municipality forms the Río Magdalena . The municipality borders in the north on Sabanagrande , in the south on Palmar de Varela , in the west on Polonuevo and Ponedera and in the east on Sitionuevo in the Department of Magdalena .
