Saqqaa [ sɑˈqːaː ] (according to the old spelling Sarĸâ ) is a Greenlandic shepherd settlement in the district of Qaqortoq in the municipality of Kujalleq .
location
Saqqaa is located in the Tasikuluulik lake area, right between the Saqqaata Tasia lake and Skyggesø . The next shepherd's settlement , Tasilikulooq , is 2.3 km to the southwest , while it is 16 km to the north to Igaliku , the nearest larger town. The settlement is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kujataa and has ruins of the Grænlendingar .
Population development
Saqqaa has only been inhabited since 1996 and since then has had a maximum of six residents. The last known population of the shepherd settlements was for 2013. Saqqaa is statistically listed under "Farms at Eqalugaarsuit".
